Our Mission

To help any member of the LGBTQ+ community who has lost the love and support of family. We will help them get connected with a loving heart that will be their Stand in Family.

Who We Are & What We Do

Stand In Pride is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded by Daniel Blevins and established in 2024, dedicated to connecting members of the LGBTQ+ community with a chosen family. We believe in the power of acceptance and the profound impact of having a supportive family—especially for those in the LGBTQ+ community who have taken the brave step to come out. Unfortunately, not everyone receives the support they deserve.

This is where our mission starts: to match LGBTQ+ individuals without family support. We provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals to find chosen family. Stand in Pride has thousands of members ready and willing to shower you with support and love. They are willing to physically show up for any special occasion. Dealing with the challenges of today requires problem-solvers who bring different perspectives and are willing to take risks.

With over 240,000 members across 26 groups worldwide, we offer unconditional support and love to those who need it most. Our diverse community of problem-solvers are ready to physically stand by your side for any special occasion, embracing different perspectives and taking bold steps to face today’s challenges together.

Meet Our Founder

Daniel Blevins, founder of Stand In Pride, is a dedicated LGBTQ+ advocate who created the community to provide unconditional support for those who may face rejection from their biological families. Daniel launched Stand In Pride in early 2021, and it has since grown into a global network of over 36,000 members spanning 70 countries. The platform connects LGBTQ+ individuals with loving Stand In Families for life events and everyday support.

Based in rural East Tennessee, Daniel has been married to his husband for over 22 years and is a proud father and grandfather. His work has been featured in USA Today, People magazine, NBC News, and The Today Show, showcasing the transformative power of chosen family.

Outside of advocacy, Daniel enjoys running his salon, spending time with his family, painting, gardening, and volunteering with local charities.

Through Stand In Pride, Daniel is committed to ensuring that everyone in the LGBTQ+ community has a supportive network, reaffirming the belief that family should never be conditional.

Daniel Blevins is a salon owner, social media influencer, LGBTQ+ advocate, activist and founder of Stand In Pride. Daniel and his husband of 22 years reside in rural East Tennessee. He’s a proud father of two children and three grandchildren.

Savannah Buchanan

Secretary | She/Her

Savannah is a graphic designer based in San Diego with a B.S. in Web Development from Platt College. As Secretary for Stand In Pride, she supports the team with social media, tech support, graphic design, scheduling, and day to day admin. Outside of her time with Stand In Pride, she enjoys beach days, crafting, cartoons, and cozy video games - usually with her cat, cockatoo, and partner nearby.

Mitchell Bryant

Director | He/Him

Mitchell Bryant is a proud trans man from Texas who knows firsthand what it feels like to be rejected by family. That experience fuels his passion for creating safe, affirming spaces for others through his work with Stand In Pride. A father of four amazing kids and the caretaker of three quirky cats, Mitchell is also a huge nerd at heart. He loves horror movies, true crime, and spending time with the people he loves most. He wishes he had more time to read, but is beyond honored to be part of Stand In Pride and to support a mission so close to his heart.
